Work in Progress with Vics Bradley
Chatting work, change and hope this week with Vics Bradley. Coach educator, master trained coach, LEGO® Serious Play® coaching trainer, tech enthusiast, and creator of With Vics. Having spent 20+ years building businesses and working inside the professional coaching world, Vics has trained 500+ coaches, advised 1,000+ founders and is honestly happiest when wearing sequins.
What are you working on right now?
Right now, I am (trying) to write a book on the topic of LEGO® Serious Play® and Coaching. Both are my professional specialist subjects so to speak, and together they become a superpower. I’ve been teaching coaches how to integrate LEGO® into their practice for the past two years and also work as a coach trainer. It’s dreamy to have both of those words collide onto paper.
But good lord, writing a book is challenging. I think I had a romantic notion of book writing, but the reality is squeezing edits between meetings, parenting and life admin.
It should be released this summer.
If you could change one thing about the world of work right now, what would it be, and why?
Just one thing? I have seen a recurring pattern recently. Strong, independent and incredibly talented women friends, being torn apart by senior leaders, leaving these women feeling like shriveled grapes.
Honestly, I’d make it compulsory for leaders to go through coach training to develop empathy, deep listening and the ability to park their ego. Imagine a work environment where incredible women actually felt incredible and believed their own Hype. We need more Hype energy in the workplace.
What’s giving you hope right now?
I’m heading to Bali in two weeks to train as a healer. It’s giving me SO MUCH HOPE. I’m increasingly obsessed with the energy we emit and the energy others bring to the party. Imagine a world that was energetically aligned.
Other than that... Adidas Originals always give me hope. Just ask my credit card #obsessed
Work in progress is a celebration of the effort and mindset required to make real change exist.
The most important jobs are never done and great work happens somewhere in the messy middle, where its all too easy to give up. But optimism is a pragmatic choice we make daily, so if you’re navigating change and want a thinking partner along the way, explore how we work.
