Helping a Marketing Agency Team Feel More Connected

Client

An international marketing agency invited nouvôt to facilitate a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® session for their local, Lisbon-based satellite team.

With a mix of established team members and new joiners, they wanted to create space for connection, reflection, and shared understanding in a fast-paced agency environment.

Industry: Integrated Marketing & Communications

Challenge

While the team connects on a personal level, individual roles and workloads meant there were limited opportunities to collaborate and feel a shared sense of team purpose in the day-to-day tasks.

They were looking for a short, engaging session that would:

  • Help team members better understand each other beyond job titles.

  • Create a welcoming experience for newer joiners.

  • Bring fresh energy into how the team connects and reflects together.

With just two hours available, the session needed to be light, inclusive, and immediately valuable.

Approach

An assortment of LEGO bricks on a table as participants hands reach in to pick up bricks in the foreground and build models in the background

We designed and facilitated a workshop using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® materials and methodology, focused on individual reflection and team connection.

Using hands-on building and guided storytelling, participants explored what they bring to the team, when they feel most connected at work, and what helps that connection grow.

Step 1: Individual Contribution

Participants built models representing what they bring to the team beyond their formal roles, surfacing strengths, values, and working styles.

Step 2: Moments of Connection

Each person adapted their model to show when they feel most connected at work, revealing shared themes around trust, visibility, and support.

Step 3: Actionable Results

Participants added elements representing small, practical ways connection could be strengthened within the team, keeping the focus on achievable actions. Each participant created and left with one feasible action they could take ownership of to help the team feel more connected in future.

Results

In a single two hour session, the team gained new perspectives on each other and created space for meaningful connection.

The feedback:

The fact that people actually came together to think and came to their own conclusion that they need to be more involved and do more on their side for team unity. This was honestly huge for me and made the whole activity more than worth it.

The session helped reinforce a sense of belonging while offering a fresh way for the team to reflect together.
